Arriving at school
The pedestrian gate into the playground is open between 8.30 and 9.10 in the morning and between 3.00 and 3.30 in the afternoon. If you come to the school outside these times, you will need to use the main entrance at the front of the school.
When the bell rings for the beginning of each session, children are expected to make their way in through their classroom door. You should make sure that your child arrives on time for the beginning of each session. You should also make sure that you are on time to collect your child at the end of each session. If you are delayed, please phone us—children can become very upset if their parents are late.

School Meals
Currently all pupils in Newham can have a free school meal. There is always a choice of healthy options available. Alternatively your child can bring a packed lunch, but please do not include sweets or drinks in glass bottles. All drinks should be in either plastic or cardboard containers (no fizzy drinks).

Home Lunch: Children should be collected promptly at 12 noon (Reception), 12.15 pm (Key Stage 1) and 12.30 pm (Key Stage 2) and returned to school in readiness to start the afternoon session.

Attendance, absence and punctuality
It is vital for your child’s learning that they attend school regularly. Therefore, your child is expected to attend school every day unless they are ill or have a medical appointment. If your child is absent from school, please let us know the reason by phoning the school, on the first morning of their absence.
If your child is absent a great deal or if your child is persistently late this will be followed up by Newham’s Attendance Officers. Holidays are not authorised during term time, however if you need to take your child out of school for urgent reasons please submit your request to the Main School Office.
