School Council

The School Council at Winsor Primary School consists of a team of active and dedicated children. The members of the council are united in their aim to orchestrate positive changes within the school.

Members of School Council are democratically elected by other children within their year group. The position of Chair for School Council meetings is filled on rotation as is the responsibility for recording minutes.

We are supported in this by a teacher representative who helps to facilitate the meetings. The school council helps to provide a voice for all pupils and it aims to meet three times in every half term.

The School Council Vision Statement is as follows:

  1. Our school council works together as a team to ensure we can be the best school possible by discussing ideas and making decisions.
  2. We aim to make pupils feel comfortable, happy and safe at school
  3. We aim to listen to others and discuss comments and suggestions that would make our school an even more wonderful place.

Over the last year the school council have helped to improve the school environment at break and lunchtimes and raised money for charities and worthwhile causes.

The School Council is currently surveying the pupil population to identify possible areas of improvement and future actions.
